Work today, which was quite a good thing as the decs are now all down and the usual post-festivity malaise has been considerably aggravated this year with the events at the beginning of December. It was nice to have something fun and bookish and distracting. The poor weather kept the usual louts away and I could actually enjoy the sight of young children arguing with their parents to be allowed to take out more than the six books they'd already picked because this one has dinosaurs too and they love dinosaurs best.

Now, with two helpings of apple lattice resting heavily inside and a newly borrowed book, life doesn't seem as awful as it did last night.
