Oct. 12th, 2011 09:30 pmMy readings for this week have been awesome
Now, though, I have to come up with my overall thoughts on them for the discussion and that's proving rather trickier. Mostly so far the only things I have discovered are:
I need to read stuff by James Baldwin
I also need to watch Tongues Untied
and Malcolm X was a Muslim! (I had no idea, but considering we only tended to learn about the rights movements of the 60s in R.E. lessons, in which we were mostly told that Martin Luther King was Yay and Malcolm X was A Bit Too Violent (e.g. Ian McKellen - Peter Tatchell parrallels) this would probably explain why. Oh, school, you do amuse me greatly when I find out the things you Conveniently Missed Out of Your Narratives)
Managed also to grab a haircut today. By the one in work so I don't like it quite as much as I did the one from the Market but at least I won't be going to Darren Hayes hiding under a mop.
